Lucid Motors, a California EV startup, has destroyed the competition for the title of longest-range electric vehicle in the United States.
Its debut car, the $169,000 Air Dream Edition, earns an EPA-estimated range of 520 miles, well over the 100-mile Tesla Model S Range ratings that don’t always hold up in conditions The real world, but multiple ports I verified that the atmosphere could actually cover at least 500 miles.
Lucid plans to sell a base model someday called the Air Pure. You’d expect the car to have a range of 406 miles – just one mile more than a Model S. But who counts?
