
Borussia Dortmund signed Ivory Coast international Sebastian Haller from Dutch giants Ajax for 31 million euros.
It is a return to German football for the 28-year-old striker, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt from 2017-2019.
He signed a four-year contract with Dortmund, runners-up to the German league last season, for a free amount that could increase to 34.5 million euros.
“I can’t wait to feel the support of more than 80,000 spectators in the future,” Haller Tell the club’s website.
“We hope to achieve great things together in the next few years and be able to celebrate together as well.”
During his 18 months at Ajax, the former West Ham United player Haller scored 47 goals in 66 matches, 11 of them in the Champions League last season when he broke several records.
He reached this number in only seven matches, during a tour in which he became only The second player after Cristiano Ronaldo to score in every group match.
“We are very pleased to have been able to sign Sebastian – the veteran attacking heartthrob who recently made a sensation in the Champions League,” said Sebastian Kell, Dortmund’s new sporting director.

During his previous spell with Frankfurt, Haller scored 24 goals in 60 matches.
“The comprehensive package is very promising,” Kehl continued. “Sebastian has a strong physical presence and is very physically flexible.
“With his experience, he can also provide support and stability to our young attacking players. He has made it clear that he has big ambitions with BVB.”
Haller, who will wear the number nine jersey, will help fill the remaining void The departure of Erling Braut Haaland to Manchester City.
“Thank you and good luck,” Ajax said on social media, to the player who finished the Dutch league’s top scorer last season with 21 goals.
Haller represented France at the youth level before moving to Côte d’Ivoire, and he also previously played with Auxerre and Utrecht.
