NBA 2K23 Release Date, Cover Info And Platform Details

Michael Jordan will return as the cover athlete for NBA 2K23, and it was announced today across multiple 2K social media platforms and via a press release provided to Forbes. This is the first time Jordan has featured on the cover of the game since NBA 2K11.

In the press release, 2K spoke about Jordan’s inclusion as the cover athlete in the title year which is synonymous with his iconic jersey number.

“In honor of the impact Jordan has made in basketball on a global scale, NBA 2K is excited to be able to showcase Jordan’s greatest moves on the virtual court to relive one of the most exciting times in NBA history, including a completely reconstructed version of the popular game Challenges.” Jordan from NBA 2K11″.

In addition to appearing on the cover, Jordan will be playable in the game’s “Jordan Challenge” mode. Challenge mode will task players with recreating some of the NBA legend’s greatest moments.

The original moments from the first iteration of the Jordan Challenge will return as well as four new moments. Each moment has been reworked, upgraded, or originally rendered to match the technological advancements made over the past 11 years.

The trailer revealing Jordan offers some hints about what new moments can be included. There is a brief moment highlighting the regular season match between Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

It will be interesting to see if there will be a crossover between this mode and others in the game such as MyNBA, MyTeam or MyCareer.

As for the standard and other editions, there are reports that Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker and Pair of WNBA Superstars May Also Be Covering NBA 2K23 Athletes.

However, 2K has not publicly confirmed these details.

NBA 2K23 is set to release on September 9 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch for Michael Jordan’s release. Championship version is available for all platforms mentioned above, except for Switch.
