Last month, the legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski Decided to retire. It’s something he’s done before, which is why not everyone is sold on his claims that he’s hanging cleats again. In fact, Gronk’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN he wouldn’t be surprised if Tom Brady called in the middle of the 2022 or 2023 season, and Gronk ended up returning to the field.
Those with a better idea of Gronk’s mindset are his former fellow Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike Evans recently called it “the best tight end ever,” and said the offense would definitely miss him. However, it is believed that Gronk is officially over with football.
“I hope he comes back,” Tell Evans KPRC2. “With Tom and Gronk, you never know. I wouldn’t get mad if he came back, I’d be excited. But I think he’s over. He’s playing in the tight end position as hard as he can, taking a really big hit and I’ve seen his body after a few games and I understand why (retired)” .

If this was for Gronkowski, he would be in Canton five years later. No one has caught more NFL touchdowns from Brady than Gronk, and the two have the second most touchdowns (including post-season) in NFL history behind Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison. Of all the NFL tight ends he’s ever played, Gronk finished his career third in receiving touchdowns (92), fifth in receiving yards (9,286) and tenth in receiving receptions (621).
Evans is right in saying you can never close the book when Gronk returns, but if he had to guess, we saw number 87 on the field for the last time.
