Steve Spurrier, the legendary former coach of Florida and South Carolina, called the “talking season” for July, and now it’s time to talk about his coaching acumen as the 2022 season approaches. The SEC is loaded with top-tier coaches, including the greatest coach of all time in Alabama’s Nick Saban and Governor National Champion Kirby Smart of Georgia. Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher also has a National title to his name and first-year LSU coach Brian Kelly led Notre Dame to the meaningful postseason stage three times during his tenure with the Fighting Irish.
There are also plenty of intrigues elsewhere surrounding coaches throughout the league. Lane Kevin drove the Ole Miss to the Sugar Bowl last year, Auburn nearly fired Bryan Harsin one year later, and Florida arrested Louisiana’s Billy Napier after Dan Mullen was fired.
