Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said Monday that Samsung Electronics will invest $500 million in Mexico in order to increase production of household appliances in the country.

Ebrard said on Twitter that the investment would be in the northern border city of Tijuana and Queretaro in central Mexico. He said he met the company’s CEO, Han Jung-hee.
