Kansas State Adds Notable Quarterback Recruit to 2023 Recruitment Class as Four Star Quarterback Avery Johnson Committed to the Wildcats will air live Tuesday on CBS Sports HQ. Johnson, the No. 1 player in Kansas after graduating from Mayes High School, chose Kansas State in exchange for offers from Oregon and Washington.
Johnson is a major addition to the Wildcats within the state and continues an impressive streak of quarterback recruits for Kansas State coach Chris Kleiman. The rookie applicant is the class’s top rookie and joins four-star Dylan Edwards as a first-class recruit to the wildcats. Join 2021 Jake Robley among the top recruits in a Korean state since Josh Freeman in 2006.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds, Johnson has the sportsmanship to quickly translate to the highest level in college football. Kansan is ranked as the 179th player in the Top247 rankings, including the 12th player overall and the #1 player in Kansas.
