TEL AVIV – Threats from the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah may derail Israel’s plan to deliver natural gas to Europe, Israeli officials said, as Israel’s interim prime minister sought help from France to defuse a crisis on its sea border with Lebanon.

The border dispute threatens to turn into an armed conflict after the hardline Lebanese Hezbollah and the political group that has fought several conflicts with Israel threatened to take measures aimed at stopping work at the Karish gas field, which is controlled by Israel.
