Bellator 283 Untitled Championship After Patricky Pitbull vs. Patricky Pitbull Removal Sidney Outlaw. Pitbull was pulled from the July 22 card after sustaining an undisclosed injury.
Bellator confirmed the injury and announced card changes on Tuesday. Douglas Lima vs Jason Jackson was upgraded from a three-round combined tournament to a five-round main event. Outlaw will fight former RIZIN champion Tofik Musaev as a late substitute. The Pitbull can be allowed to train again in two weeks if treatments go well, according to Fighting MMA.
Pitbull (24-10) won the vacant lightweight championship on November 5 and avenged his loss to Peter Coyle. Patricio Pitbull, Patrick’s brother, cleared the belt so Patrick could contend for the title.
Outlaw (16-4) is the #1 candidate in the lightweight Bellator. He defeated Miles Gorey, Adam Picolotti, and Roger Huerta. His only promotion loss came against former three-time lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
Bellator 283 takes place inside the Emerald Queen Casino and Hotel in Tacoma, Washington on July 22.
