Bellator 283 Untitled Championship After Patricky Pitbull vs. Patricky Pitbull Removal Sidney Outlaw. Pitbull was reportedly pulled from his July 22 card after suffering an undisclosed injury.
The news of the injury was first reported by Sherdog. The Pitbull can be allowed to train again in two weeks if treatments go well, according to Fighting MMA. Bellator has yet to announce a new main event for the card. It’s unclear if Outlaw will remain on the card. The Bellator 283 co-main event is Douglas Lima against Jason Jackson.
Pitbull (24-10) won the vacant lightweight championship on November 5 and avenged his loss to Peter Coyle. Patricio Pitbull, Patrick’s brother, cleared the belt so Patrick could contend for the title.
Outlaw (16-4) is the #1 candidate in the lightweight Bellator. He defeated Miles Gorey, Adam Picolotti, and Roger Huerta. His only promotion loss came against former three-time lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
Bellator 283 takes place inside the Emerald Queen Casino and Hotel in Tacoma, Washington on July 22.
