Von Miller has signed with the Buffalo Bills to bring a football-mad city the only thing they want, a Super Bowl. Miller signed a six-year contract with The Bills to fulfill that promise, as the $120 million deal would keep the scrolling star in Buffalo until he’s 38 years old.

Players don’t usually see life in their deals. Miller wants to challenge the odds for a player in his mid-30s.

“This is a six-year deal, so I’m looking forward to playing it all,” Miller said, Via Buffalo News. “I try to play everything. Tom Brady did it, Bruce Smith did it. All the guys I look up to when it comes to longevity in careers. So I take it one day at a time and I’ll take whatever God gives me. My goal is to play Everything. I am very sick when you get to know me. My mind is different.”

Smith signed a six-year $28.2 million deal with the Bills in 1997 – but couldn’t see the whole deal in Buffalo as a result of the salary cap being emptied after the 1999 season. He secured a five-year, $23 million deal with Washington in 2000 when He was 37, playing on a contract that kept him in the NFL uniform until he was 41. Smith was fired in the last year of his contract (at age 40), but hinted that he would retire before his release. Smith’s 29 sacks in Washington allowed him to become the league’s all-time leader, collecting 200 sacks in a 19-year career.

Although Smith signed two big deals in his mid and late thirties, he was not released due to his performance. Miller wants to play his deal at Buffalo, and shows he can still get him after the quarterback at this point in his career.

Miller was dominant once he was traded to Los Angeles on the trade deadline, showing that he still has the talent to be an influential player and team-maker in defense. He led the NFL with 18 loss encounters since playing his first game with the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10, and Miller also racked up 52 presses (3rd in the NFL) and nine sacks (tied for 6th place) with Los Angeles (including postseason).

Earning his money in the postseason, Miller finished with 14 tackles, four sacks, six quarterback hits, and a mandatory fumble. His only 22 presses delayed Aaron Donald (23) and drove 16 wheel all-NFL defenders, an important part of the Rams winning a championship.

Miller finished 50 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 17 quarterbacks, and a mandatory tumble in the regular season—along with 55 pressings and 47 rebounds (seventh in the NFL). Those numbers would definitely do at Buffalo if Miller could lead the Bills to the Super Bowl.
