Safety Jordan Poyer is looking to keep Buffalo Bill at least for the foreseeable future and hopes he can eventually help the team get a ring. Poyer and the Buffalo Bills are currently in discussions about extending a potential safety connection, something Poyer has been vocal about his desire.
Boyer has opened up about his time with Bills on the inside the garage audio notationWith praise to his teammates and coaches.
Not only does he prefer staying where he is, but he can’t imagine a better team to be with.
“The team is a really great group of guys. I always say to the newbies when they come in, ‘You’ll never be around a better group of guys,’ just the relationships we built in Buffalo…These are the relationships we’ve built over the years that are really second to none, and no I can really think of a better situation than Buffalo right now.”
The 31-year-old joined the Bills in 2017, having played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns. When he came to Buffalo, he said the coaches give him the support and confidence that helps him succeed on the field.
“You could tell the coaches at Buffalo are really invested…they’re guys who really saw me and believed in me,” he said. “As a player, that’s all you really want, is for someone at that level to believe in you.”
Boyer hasn’t hinted at staying in Buffalo for his entire career, but he has one goal in mind before he heads off to the next town, or retires.
“It was a great Buffalo, man, I enjoyed my time there and definitely want to get a ring out before I leave,” Boyer said.
From the outside looking inside, the Bills are definitely once again in the conversation for Super Bowl favorites and Poyer feels that from the locker room, too.
Midfielder Josh Allen has proven to be among the best among the best and Boyer says he is No. 1 in the league.
“I think we have the right group of guys in the changing room [win]Obviously, I think we have the best midfielder in the damn league, so I think the sky’s the limit for this team.”
Poyer was drafted into the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft and played his best football while at the Buffalo, receiving All-Pro honors in 2021.
He held out for volunteer drills due to contract negotiations, but was in mandatory mini-camp.
