Back in April, AMD released a version of Ryzen 7 5800X3D A modified version of the 5800X solid state CPU that comes with the manufacturer’s cool new “3D Vertical Cache” technology, also referred to as 3D V-cache. Now, new leaks suggest that AMD may be planning to bring this technology to the new CPUs in the Zen 3 line.

The design of the V-cache chiplet, from a layman’s perspective, allowed AMD to “stack” the cache on the processor block, creating an additional L3 cache to boost performance in game and server processes. The 5800X3D is a solid gaming powerhouse, but at $449, it’s out of reach for many looking to build their own gaming PC.
