The United States men’s soccer team advanced to the 2024 Paris Olympics after defeating host country Honduras 3-0 in the semi-finals of the 2022 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
This year, the two finalists in that tournament received automatic bids for the Olympics. The United States finished second after the Dominican Republic beat Guatemala on penalties earlier on Friday.
The United States and the Dominican Republic will play on Sunday in San Pedro Sula to determine the CONCACAF U-20 champion.
The Americans scored their three goals in the first half.
Paxton Aaronson, an 18-year-old midfielder who plays for the Philadelphia Union, scored in the third minute.
Alejandro Alvarado of FC Vezela scored the second goal in the 23rd minute.
